About

Imagine your day

Morning starts on the shop floor with a part in hand. You set up the 3D scanner, verify your CMM program, and cross-check critical features with calipers. By noon, the physical geometry has become a precise digital twin. In the afternoon, you shift to SolidWorks—building accurate 3D models, unfolding sheet metal, and refining fabricated components so they're ready for production. Before end of day, you finalize 2D drawings with full GD&T, assemble a clean BOM, and publish work instructions. Along the way, you huddle with machinists, fabricators, quality, and project managers to make sure what's designed is exactly what gets built.

What you will do
  • Reverse engineering: Capture geometry and material details from existing parts and assemblies using advanced metrology tools such as 3D scanners, CMM, and calipers.
  • Solid modeling & CAD: Create precise 3D models in SolidWorks with a focus on robust sheet metal and fabricated component design.
  • Design for Manufacturability: Optimize parts and assemblies for efficient, cost-effective, high-yield production across laser cutting, bending, welding, machining, and assembly.
  • Documentation: Produce comprehensive engineering packages—detailed 2D production drawings (with GD&T), Bills of Materials, and clear work instructions.
  • Collaboration: Partner with machinists, fabricators, quality assurance, and project managers to protect design intent and deliver production-ready solutions.
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer within manufacturing or product development environments.
  • Hands-on mastery of reverse engineering methodologies and measurement techniques.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD; demonstrated ability to create robust sheet metal models and fabrication drawings (required).
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and finishing methods.
  • Strong command of dimensioning standards and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Houston, Texas, United States
