We are seeking a motivated Picker/Packer to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Picker/Packer, you will be at the forefront of our order fulfillment process, responsible for accurately picking customer orders and preparing them for shipment. This role requires precision, speed, and a keen eye for detail to ensure that the right items are selected and packed correctly. You will utilize warehouse technology, such as scanners and order management systems, to facilitate your work. This is a physically active role that involves moving throughout the warehouse, lifting items, and maintaining organization. Your contribution is vital to our logistics operations and customer satisfaction. We are committed to providing a safe working environment, and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on order lists generated by the system.
- Verify product information and quantities before packing.
- Pack items securely and efficiently using appropriate packaging materials.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare packages for carrier pickup.
- Operate hand-held scanners and other warehouse technology to track order progress.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and ensure the general tidiness of the picking and packing areas.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, such as stocking or cycle counting.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a picking, packing, or general warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting items up to 40 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with scanning devices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and commitment to a safe work environment.
- Experience with different types of packaging and shipping methods is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced logistics setting.
