We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in New York City, New York. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement and organization of goods within our state-of-the-art warehouse facility. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving, stocking, picking, and preparing materials for shipment. This role is essential to our overall supply chain operations, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to maintain a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols. Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading trucks and containers using appropriate equipment.
- Moving materials to and from storage areas and production areas.
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Scanning and recording inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ensuring accurate counts and quality checks of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assisting with inventory counts and stock rotation.
- Performing routine maintenance checks on equipment.
- Collaborating with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activity, including frequent bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
