About
We are looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse facility. This includes loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory to and from storage areas, and staging goods for shipment. Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts is essential, along with a strong commitment to safety protocols and the proper use of PPE. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely handling of goods. Experience with warehouse equipment and a solid understanding of safety procedures are key.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up) safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with order picking and stocking as needed.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways for movement.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including strict adherence to PPE requirements.
- Follow all warehouse logistics and inventory management procedures.
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory checks.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong commitment to safety and experience with PPE.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to work assigned shifts, including potential overtime.
