Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician for our Chicago, Illinois facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a keen understanding of warehouse equipment maintenance and repair. You will be responsible for ensuring that all material handling equipment, conveyor systems, and other warehouse machinery are in optimal working condition. Your expertise will directly contribute to the efficiency and safety of our operations. This role is critical for minimizing downtime and supporting the seamless flow of goods through our logistics network. Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on all warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to ensure minimal operational disruption.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety regulations and Lifting guidelines.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan.
  • Operate equipment safely when necessary for testing or diagnostic purposes.
  • Work collaboratively with the warehouse team to identify and address equipment needs.
  • Ensure the proper use and availability of PPE for all maintenance tasks.
  • Stay updated on the latest maintenance techniques and technologies in the logistics industry.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties when needed, understanding the importance of a unified logistics effort.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar role.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics is essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and the correct use of PPE.
  • Experience with Lifting and operating various types of warehouse machinery.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
