About

About Mandolin
Nearly all disease will become treatable in our lifetimes, and drug discovery is quickly becoming an engineering discipline. Mandolin is building the "last-mile" delivery infrastructure that gets cutting-edge biologics, cell, and gene therapies to patients faster. Our AI-powered knowledge-worker platform already serves leading infusion clinics, with payers and pharma next in line.
We're backed by Greylock, SignalFire, Maverick, and founders of famous companies like Yahoo, and led by repeat and exited founders with a team hailing from some of the most technically impressive companies.
Why we need you
Our customers are drowning in manual, error-prone processes and disillusioned by outsourcers who promise automation but deliver spreadsheets. They're hungry for a partner who can quickly diagnose operational choke-points and translate them into elegant, reliable workflows. As a Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer, you'll be that partner: embedding on-site, mastering each organization's unique data & workflow quirks, and orchestrating Mandolin's platform so that hours of busywork disappear, revenue cycles accelerate, and clinicians can focus on patients.
When you do your job well, the impact feels like a step-function leap in efficiency-and demand for that transformation is growing every day.
What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end deployments of Mandolin's automation suite for assigned customers-scoping, integration, go-live, and post-launch tuning.
  • Travel on-site (avg. 1-2 weeks per quarter) to map workflows, unblock adoption, and build trust with clinical and rev-cycle teams.
  • Adapt & extend workflows via configuration and light coding so customer edge cases are handled without forking the product.
  • Lead a paired junior FDE ; coach on best practices and delegate implementation tasks.
  • Surface generalization opportunities -turn custom code into reusable product features by working closely with platform engineers.
  • Champion customer happiness by tracking success metrics, triaging issues, and communicating roadmaps clearly.

Must-have experience
  • 4 + years full-stack or integration engineering, including direct customer-facing work.
  • Proven ownership of complex SaaS rollouts or enterprise software projects.
  • Strong communication skills; comfortable with exec meetings and clinician floor-walks.
  • Ability to write reliable TypeScript or Python scripts, craft API integrations, and debug data pipelines.
  • Founder-mindset: obsessed with customer success, bias to action, comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Willingness to travel domestically (up to 10-20 %).
Nice-to-haves
  • Background in healthcare integrations (EHR, RCM, rev-cycle) or other regulated domains.
  • Prior forward-deployed or professional-services engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with workflow engines (Temporal, Airflow) and modern observability stacks.
