Job Description

We are looking for an Agile Portfolio Coach with experience in guiding & facilitating portfolio transformations to join our Center of Excellence (CoE). The CoE has experts in Agile, DevOps, Development Tooling, Software Engineering, Test Engineering, Training and Metrics. The CoE has a mandate to increase the value and improve the flow of valuable work across the enterprise.

You will report to the Agile & Metrics Leader. You will be responsible for guiding the organization through the portfolio transformation by identifying requirements, guiding portfolio and product managers, tracking progress, and facilitating impediment removal. Candidate must be an agile expert, practitioner, and experienced portfolio transformation coach. You are expected to contribute to the transformation through a combination of facilitation, training, coaching, best practice development, metrics tracking and direct assistance.

We will count on you to:

Work with the Agile & Metrics Leader to actively contribute to shape the portfolio transformation strategy.

Interview portfolio managers to check their readiness for engagement. Identify requirements, create draft transformation backlog, train and guide portfolio/ product managers and track progress of transformation.
Manage the overall backlog for transformation, and work with portfolio managers to make progress.
Contribute to build training for various roles involved in the transformation and deliver training.

Contribute to establish portfolio processes, practices, tools, and metrics for successful transformation.

Create templates and dashboards to track the progress and actively facilitate removal of impediments.
Gather feedback, work to remove obstacles and continuously improve execution of the transformation.

What you need to have:
Portfolio transformation experience helping portfolio managers adopt lean and agile practices, ideally during an agile transformation journey of software delivery teams in a large organization. Must be able to engage with development teams, leadership and business stakeholders, understanding their goals and challenges. Experience of helping them to find the path to success through effective training, mentoring & coaching.

Must haves:

Minimum 3 years' experience as portfolio transformation coach.
Minimum 10 years' experience in information technology, working with leadership & stakeholders.
Has been part of a few departmental/ organisational transformations, guiding leaders and teams.
Understanding of agile operating models, transformation strategies, and contribution in shaping them.
Ability to clearly articulate an agile transformation strategy & the value created by it.
Ability to interview leaders and teams to understand coaching needs and create a transformation backlog.
Experience of liaising with portfolio teams & business to clearly articulate their engagement in transforming the team practices, communicating it and gaining agreement.
Experience in agile practices, Scrum, Kanban, XP, and scaling horizontally through teams/team-of-teams/portfolio or vertically through value streams.
Experience in producing tangible results through baselining and monitoring key metrics.
Knowledge and experience with agile software development techniques – User Stories, TDD, Pairing, Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, Planning and Progress Tracking etc.

Experience with electronic story boards like Azure DevOps or JIRA.
