We are looking for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join our Grid and Primary Design team, playing a key role in delivering capital projects up to 132kV across the region.
You will lead on all aspects of substation and network design from concept through to commissioning while supporting a variety of infrastructure upgrades to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities Lead the development of electrical design strategies and solutions for capital projects.
Carry out and approve detailed design work for substations and associated infrastructure (up to 132kV).
Oversee and manage contractors and consultants throughout project lifecycles.
Prepare and approve technical specifications for all plant and equipment.
Witness and accept equipment during Factory Acceptance Testing.
Carry out protection setting calculations.
Supervise and mentor junior and graduate engineers.
Approve the work of other engineers at Lead Engineer level.
Requirements Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering (degree preferred).
Strong experience in substation design (132kV/33kV/11kV).
In-depth understanding of protection schemes, switchgear, overhead lines and underground cable design.
Knowledge of CDM regulations in a utility or DNO setting.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. xbpsjku
Familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) experience with power system analysis tools desirable.
