About
We are seeking a diligent Material Handler for our facility in Richmond, Virginia. This role is essential for the smooth flow of materials within our warehouse. You will be responsible for handling goods from receipt through to dispatch, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at every step. Key duties include receiving shipments, stocking inventory, picking and preparing orders, and loading outbound trucks. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, and adherence to all protocols, including the correct use of PPE, is mandatory. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, capable of consistent lifting and movement, and possess a keen eye for detail. Experience with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is highly valued. This position is a critical component of our logistics operations, ensuring that our supply chain runs seamlessly. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming materials.
- Stock and organize inventory in designated areas.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
- Load materials onto trucks for outbound delivery.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area according to established guidelines.
- Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment and report any defects.
- Participate in inventory counts and stock audits.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandated use of PPE.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a Material Handler or similar warehouse role.
- Proven ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent standing, walking, and Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety best practices and logistics operations.
- Must consistently wear and utilize required PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for inventory tracking systems is a plus.
