We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Forklift Operator at our expansive distribution center in Columbus, Ohio. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to manage the flow of goods within our facility. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting inventory to and from storage locations, and supporting overall warehouse Logistics . Our commitment to a safe work environment means providing comprehensive training, ensuring adherence to all Safety regulations, and supplying necessary PPE . This position requires certified forklift operation, excellent spatial awareness, and the physical capability for moderate Lifting and material handling. Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach) safely and effectively.
- Load and unload merchandise from trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
- Move products efficiently between receiving, storage, and shipping areas.
- Perform routine checks on forklifts before use and report any maintenance needs.
- Accurately read and process shipping orders, picking lists, and receiving documents.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper placement and scanning of goods.
- Uphold all company Safety rules, regulations, and best practices.
- Wear and maintain all required PPE , such as safety vests, steel-toed shoes, and gloves.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of our Logistics processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse setting.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe forklift operating procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory.
- Capacity for Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all protocols.
- Willingness to wear and use all required PPE .
- Understanding of Logistics and distribution center operations.
