Join our team as a Shipping Clerk at our Baltimore, Maryland location! This role is critical for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, packing orders, and coordinating with carriers to arrange pickups. You will play an integral part in our logistics network, making sure our products reach their destinations safely and correctly. This position requires excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Pack orders securely and accurately, ensuring product integrity during transit.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL) for pickups and deliveries.
- Verify outgoing shipments against order manifests for accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant departments.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong understanding of packing techniques and materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the proper use of PPE is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
