Host/Server - Sushi

Overview

Seven Sushi in Chinatown is seeking a friendly and professional Host/Server to join our sushi restaurant team. This role involves welcoming guests, and providing exceptional customer service to ensure a memorable dining experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and experience in food service environments, particularly within restaurant settings. Prior experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently
• Seat guests promptly and assist with menu recommendations when needed
• Take customer orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen staff
• Handle guest inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive dining experience
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and dining area
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems like TOAST
• Assist servers during busy periods by delivering food and beverages as needed
• Uphold high standards of hospitality, guest relations, and phone etiquette
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations

Requirements

• Previous host/host experience or food service background preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
• Excellent communication skills and friendly demeanor
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Hospitality or restaurant experience is advantageous, especially within sushi or Asian cuisine settings
• Professional appearance and positive attitude required
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Pay: $ $26.84 per hour
