GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The laser operator safely performs basic laser operator processes for sheet metal components as specified by written instructions, schedules and drawings. Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications. The person in this position must always support and promote the company Vision, Mission and Values, using UPSCALE as the foundation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Complete basic tasks while applying standard practices in performing typical laser cutting operations.
Perform setups and operations using CO2 and/or fiber optic lasers on production hardware.
With direct oversight, identify machine alignment problems.
Use precision instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.
Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
Able to learn to troubleshoot minor program errors independently.
May work at different workstation
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Able to read and understand manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints, and sketches.
Must be able to use mathematics relevant to functions.
Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.
Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches.
Possess knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metals.
Ability to learn or have some working knowledge of NC machine code.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Self-sufficient in all areas of responsibility.
Ability to work well as a team member and delegate work flow as needed.
Understanding and support of Dakotaland Manufacturing policies and procedures.
Safety conscious behavior.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Wear a fit-tested respirator if required.
Will work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective cloth
