Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples, performing specimen processing, and ensuring accurate patient identification and specimen labeling. This role plays a vital part in supporting diagnostic testing and patient care, requiring excellent patient service skills and adherence to laboratory procedures. Prior laboratory or clinical experience is preferred, along with a strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology. The Phlebotomist will work independently to provide efficient and compassionate patient care in a mobile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and blood sampling using proper aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and specimen integrity
  • Collect specimens accurately following established protocols and laboratory procedures
  • Process and label specimens correctly for transportation to the laboratory
  • Obtain vital signs and assess patient condition as needed during specimen collection
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment in compliance with safety standards
  • Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during collection
  • Document all procedures accurately in accordance with hospital or laboratory policies
  • Assist with specimen processing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and storage as required
  • Follow all infection control protocols and safety guidelines to prevent contamination or injury
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to support overall patient care

Requirements

  • Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings preferred
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques essential for accurate specimen collection
  • Skilled in venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen processing methods
  • Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience is advantageous
  • Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Certification or training in phlebotomy is preferred but not mandatory; relevant laboratory experience will be considered
  • Knowledge of vital signs measurement and basic patient care practices beneficial

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, PRN

Pay: $ $25.53 per hour
