Position:
Computer Technician

Location/Hours:
Northwest Local School District - Central Support Offices
7.5 Hours per day - 260 day contract

Salary:
$ $37.68 per hour, commensurate with experience

Job Summary:
Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to district technology hardware and software systems, and provides technical support.

Job Qualifications:
1. Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
2. A minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Able to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks in short periods of time
5. Working knowledge of:
a. Operating Systems: Windows, Chrome OS and Mac OS
b. Google Apps.
c. Basic networking/troubleshooting skills.
d. Classroom instructional technology familiarity including, but not limited to, SMART Boards, printers, projectors, copiers, AV equipment, etc.
e. Multimedia software and peripherals.
f. Device Hardware.
6. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations.
7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Essential Duties:
1. Maintains knowledge of PC configurations and setups.
2. Maintains knowledge of the latest software and hardware technologies
3. Performs basic network System Administrator functions.
4. Develops and maintains software images for student and instructor technologies.
5. Uses various image retrieval and system creation utilities.
6. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves hardware and software problems.
7. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves copier and printer equipment problems..
8. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves audio/visual problems.
9. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves telecommunications problems.
10.Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves basic network problems.
11.To respond to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems.
12.Provides one-on-one training for staff on basic use of computers and other technologies when needed/requested.
13.To recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems.
14.To assist activities with help desk, network services, or other information system groups.
15.To provide updates, status, and completion information to manager/supervisor, and problem request work order management system.
16.To replace defective or inadequate software packages.
17.To communicate as needed with other departments/staff.
18.To attend technology meetings as requested.
19.To attend training as requested.
20.To perform such other duties as may be assigned by the technology supervisor
