General Manager – Doc Watson Café

The Role

We're hiring a seasoned restaurant operator to run Doc Watson Café like a business, not a hobby.

This role owns the day-to-day operation and the numbers behind it. You are responsible for people, product, performance, and profitability. You'll have autonomy, clear expectations, and accountability.

Experience (Non-Negotiable)

• 3–5+ years in restaurant management, ownership, or senior leadership
• Proven experience managing P&Ls, labor, food cost, margins, and overhead
• Strong understanding of scheduling, payroll control, inventory, and vendor management
• Track record of leading teams, not just supervising shifts

If you've never been responsible for the financial health of a restaurant, this is not the role.

Core Responsibilities

• Full operational ownership: hiring, training, scheduling, discipline, and culture
• Own food cost %, labor %, and profitability targets
• Execute and improve systems for consistency, speed, and quality
• Oversee menu execution, recipe adherence, and operational changes
• Identify inefficiencies and actively reduce waste and overhead
• Maintain strict accountability across staff and systems
• Work independently while aligning with ownership direction
• Drive continuous improvement with a health-forward mindset

Compensation

• Base salary (finalized with experience)
• Performance-based bonus structure, including:
• Profitability
• Food cost %
• Labor control
• Operational KPIs
• Bonuses tracked monthly and paid quarterly

Reporting & Support

• Reports directly to ownership
• Authority to make real operational decisions
• Clear expectations, metrics, and accountability

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
