Process Engineer

The Process Engineer provides technical support & leadership for the two sites in Green Bay, while working in a cross-functional team setting. This includes executing & supporting capital projects & learning and troubleshooting process issues. The Process Engineer fully supports all elements of the Process Safety Management (PSM) program, including leading & facilitating PHAs & leading and supporting MOCs. As a technical leader for the sites, the job function will include mentoring, guiding, and training others.

In your future role as Process Engineer you will

  • Execute small ($50k) and medium ($50k - $1MM) capital projects.
  • Lead & facilitate Process Hazard Analyses.
  • Work with Technology group to learn and understand Expancel or Silica chemistry and process.
  • Identify and lead engineering Management of Change (MOCs)
  • Mentor or manage and train interns, co-ops, rotational engineers, and new engineers
  • Be aware of potential health, safety, security, and environmental impacts and the actions required should an issue occur.
  • Work according to Green Bay site and Nouryon standards.
  • Handle all hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all company, state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Other duties and assignments as directed by manager.

We believe you bring

  • A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience (chemical industry preferred)
  • Knowledge of PSM elements (MOC, PHA, PSSR etc.)
  • knowledge and experience with capital project execution
  • high proficiency in troubleshooting process equipment
  • demonstrated leadership ability
  • ability to read/write in English
  • ability to lift approx. 50 lbs.
  • experience facilitating Process Hazard Analysis preferred
  • project management experience preferred
  • continuous improvement mindset, cross-functional communication & time management skills
