Essential Functions:

Displays a positive and professional appearance according to the Employee Handbook

Makes a conscious effort to learn members names and uses them whenever possible

Welcomes and acknowledge all members and guests as soon as they arrive

Inform the servers of any special requests made on the reservation sheet

Completes all side work according to side work list

Seats members according to their reservation or their preference

Delivers menus and fills water glasses

Makes bread baskets and delivers them to tables when seated

Performs cleanup and re-set tables as needed

Attends pre-shift line-meeting and takes notes of Club events and Birthdays

Maintains cleanliness and organization of the hostess stand, menus and other areas

Assigns and gets tables ready per the reservations

Keeps track of member and guest tracking sheet throughout the shift

Has knowledge of all dining layouts

Has knowledge of all Club functions

Answers the phone professionally and takes reservations as needed with all required information

Assists in a safe work environment

Aids in teamwork; assists in other departments as needed

Required Competencies/Skills:

Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly

Must be able to evaluate and select alternative courses of actions quickly and accurately

Must be able to work in a team environment and work well under pressure and high stress environments

Shows initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done, prevent, prioritize, identify and solve problems as necessary

Must coordinate multiple tasks and maintain a high level of organization as it pertains to dining service

Must be able to handle all aspects of responding and ensuring member satisfaction if a supervisor or manager is available

Must be able to go above and beyond to ensure that members are being welcomed and appreciated

Required Experience:

1-2 years relevant service experience

Work Environment:

Members only Dining Room Facility – indoor with central A/C and outdoor with firepits and heat lamps – temperatures may vary. Host/Hostess are required to wear non-slip shoes to avoid slip and fall accidents when walking from the Kitchen to the Main Dining Room. Host/Hostess must encompass basic coping skills for stressful situations that may arise. Host/Hostess must be able to handle large crowds on a busy night with a calm demeanor and professional appearance intact.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours at a time

Must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs.

Carrying tables and chairs back and forth to the grill dining room when needed

Must be able to bend, twist, reach, squat, and kneel when necessary

Expected Hours of Work:

Will work nights and weekends as needed

Available for all major holidays and major Club functions

Education/Training Requirements:

Must attend all staff training

Preferred Education and Experience:

High School Diploma

1-2 years relevant service experience

ServSafe Certified
