About the Role:
We are searching for a Workday Application Developer with strong hands-on experience supporting Workday HCM and Financials. This specialist will lead the development, configuration, integration, and ongoing support of Workday functionality across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will be able to design end-to-end integrations, optimize data flows, develop reporting solutions, and provide technical guidance to business and IT stakeholders. This role plays a critical part in ensuring Workday supports operational needs through secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions.
Location: Hybrid – Crownsville, MD
Key Responsibilities:Development & Configuration
- Design, build, test, and deploy Workday integrations using tools such as EIB, Studio, Core Connectors, and SOAP/REST Web Services
- Configure and maintain Workday business processes, calculated fields, custom validations, and condition rules
- Develop and maintain Workday custom reports and reporting objects
- Troubleshoot and resolve system or integration issues
Integration Management
- Create and maintain integrations between Workday and third-party systems (HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, etc.)
- Monitor and manage scheduled integrations, addressing failures or data inconsistencies
- Document integration designs, data flows, and configuration processes
- Optimize existing integrations for performance, scalability, and reliability
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and analytics to support business and compliance needs
- Translate reporting requirements into Workday-based solutions
- Automate report scheduling and distribution
Support & Collaboration
- Provide technical support to agency/end users
- Maintain system documentation including design specifications, workflows, and configuration guides
- Work closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to align Workday functionality with business needs
- Participate in change control and configuration management processes
- Gather and document business requirements for enhancements, break/fix, and change requests
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience supporting or administering enterprise systems, including Workday HCM, Payroll, Financials, Reporting, or web services integrations
- Additional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis (up to four years)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to discuss business processes at a detailed functional level
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong documentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated hands-on Workday experience
- Experience supporting Workday in implementation or post-production environments as a primary technical resource
- Workday certifications or equivalent training
- Experience supporting HCM, Payroll, and/or Financial systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive or proprietary data
