Dishwasher/Food Prep

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/Food Prep team member to support our kitchen operations. Alto Pino is a small start-up Mediterranean restaurant located in downtown Duluth, and we're looking for individuals who have a passion for the industry, appreciate teamwork and who act proactively. This role involves washing dishes, pots and pans in a timely manner, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring a calm, quiet experience for guests. Ideal candidates will have a passion for hospitality and food service, with experience in restaurant, catering, or hotel settings preferred. They will be aware of their surroundings and help create an atmosphere that supports fine dining service This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience at one of the best restaurants in Duluth. This position works starting at 3:00 pm, Wednesday through Sunday, with Mondays and Tuesdays off. Ending hours vary by day but are typically in the pm range.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently to maintain cleanliness standards
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, making flatbread
• Support restaurant cleanliness by keeping the prep room, dry storage and back stairs clean and tidy
• Ensure all food handling and sanitation procedures are followed according to health regulations
• Proactively look for projects such as deep cleaning shelves, etc. when slow

Skills

• Experience in food service, restaurant, catering, or hospitality environments
• Knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
• Ability to perform basic food preparation tasks and a desire to learn more
• Strong cleaning skills and attention to detail in maintaining organization and hygiene standards
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while managing multiple tasks
• Previous experience with bussing, serving, or culinary work is a plus

Pay: $ $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
