Village Motors Colorado is looking for an Automotive Controller to join their amazing team. Our ideal candidate must have experience working in the accounting department of new car dealerships, with strong proficiency in generating and submitting financial statements.

Job Type: Full Time
Pay: $90,000-$130,000
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage all general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and banking functions
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Develop comprehensive budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with the General Manager and executive team
- Design and document all internal control policies and procedures to ensure proper accountability and asset protection across all departments (Sales, Service, Parts)
- Provide financial analysis and insights to department managers to improve profitability (e.g., F&I analysis, gross profit monitoring, expense control)
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, including payroll, sales, and franchise taxes
- Hire, train, and manage an accounting personnel, cashiers, and receptionists
- Oversee the integrity of the Dealer Management System (DMS) data and its integration with financial reporting
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as an Automotive Controller or Assistant Controller or Office Manager within a franchised new-car dealership is required
- Expert knowledge of dealership accounting practices (e.g., schedules, reserves, inventory costing)
- Strong accounting skills — background in Accounting / Finance is highly preferred
- Proficiency with major Dealer Management Systems (e.g., Reynolds, Dealertrack, CDK)
- Proven ability to collaborate with managers and lead / mentor team members
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment and establish crucial systems
- Proficient in MS Office and/or Google Workspace programs
