Dietary Aide / Wait Staff

$11.50–$13.00/hour

PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION

Assist with meal preparation, tray assembly, dining service, and sanitation to deliver a safe, pleasant, and efficient dining experience for residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; follow oral and written instructions.

Team-oriented with strong customer service and communication skills.

Basic knowledge of food service, portion control, and sanitation preferred.

RESIDENT RIGHTS

Maintain confidentiality of PHI; treat residents with dignity and respect.

Knock before entering rooms; honor resident choices and cultural preferences.

Report grievances/complaints and suspected abuse immediately per policy.

Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and staff.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining room; distribute and collect menus; assist cooks as directed.

Serve meals in dining room and to rooms; follow portion control standards.

Check and deliver special diet trays; assist residents with meal set-up and safe dining as needed.

Prepare snacks and beverages; ensure stock is labeled, dated, and rotated.

Wash, clean, and store utensils and smallwares; perform dishwashing and area sanitation.

Maintain clean worktables, refrigerators/freezers, and service areas; remove garbage per schedule.

Support a warm, organized dining environment; collaborate across departments to meet resident needs.

SAFETY AND SANITATION

Follow infection prevention and food safety policies; maintain hand hygiene and glove use.

Use PPE as appropriate; understand and follow SDS/chemical labeling requirements.

Maintain clean, clutter-free work areas; immediately report hazards or incidents.

Participate in safety/sanitation in-services; follow fire and emergency procedures.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Stand/walk for long periods; lift/carry 25–50 lbs; push/pull food carts.

Function independently with integrity and flexibility; assist during evacuations as needed.
