About
Senior Data Engineer
We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the company's Commerce Data Pipelines team, which builds and maintains high-quality data products that power subscriber insights and revenue-driving decisions. In this role, you'll partner closely with business, analytics, and infrastructure teams to design, build, and scale data pipelines that measure subscriber behavior and key performance metrics. You'll work across disciplines to identify data sources, design table structures, define ETL strategies, and implement automated data quality checks.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical partners to understand data and reporting needs
- Work with engineering teams to gather data from internal and external systems
- Design table structures and build reliable, scalable ETL pipelines in a fast-growing data ecosystem
- Develop automated data quality checks to ensure accuracy and trust in data products
- Build and maintain ETL routines using tools such as Airflow
- Support database deployments using tools like Schema Change
- Perform SQL and ETL performance tuning
- Conduct ad hoc analysis as needed
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- Strong understanding of data modeling (dimensional modeling, normalization, etc.)
- Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to interpret business and consumer data
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing/reporting on KPIs within data warehousing environments
- Experience with analytic SQL and relational or distributed systems (Snowflake, Redshift)
- 1+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python or PySpark
- 1+ years of experience with orchestration/ETL tools (Airflow, NiFi)
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks/EMR/Spark, or Airflow
