Light Duty Cleaner

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Light Duty Cleaner to join our team. This will be for numerous residential apartment buildings in Nanaimo. This position involves performing cleaning tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across various facilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to quality work, punctuality, and adhering to safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained workspace while developing valuable cleaning skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal in designated areas
• Clean restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met
• Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely and effectively
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper as needed
• Follow established cleaning protocols and safety procedures at all times
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
• Maintain a neat and organized work area during and after cleaning tasks

Requirements

• Prior experience in cleaning or custodial work is preferred but not required; training will be provided
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting light loads, and walking for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and work independently or as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward work responsibilities
• Must be able to pass background checks and adhere to safety guidelines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Nanaimo, BC V9V 1A3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (required)
