Controls Engineer

Automation Intelligence, a Peak Technologies company, Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining control systems used in industrial automation environments. This role works closely with engineering, production, and project teams to define system requirements, develop control solutions, and ensure system functionality and reliability. The position requires strong technical knowledge in electrical systems, PLC and HMI programming, and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

• Design, develop, and implement control systems for industrial automation applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into control system specifications.
• Program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces).
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including functional specifications, user manuals, and test plans.
• Perform system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure performance and reliability.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry standards in control systems engineering.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical circuits, components, and control logic.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs in an industrial environment.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues.
• Proficient in control system documentation and structured development processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable solutions.
