Job Summary

Minnesota Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking dynamic individuals to join the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) as Group Supervisor. The Group Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of Assistant Group Supervisors and Security Counselors at Community Preparation Services (CPS) and will design and organize program service delivery systems to their assigned work area. The Group Supervisor is responsible for promoting and supporting the mission and treatment philosophies of a client population represented by diverse cultures and needs, which require continued attention to ensure that dignity and respect are maintained in the process of providing a safe and secure setting. This position acts as the liaison between MSOP and the criminal/civil court systems and interacts with numerous professionals both within the Department of Human Services and with other agencies and entities.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing oversight to staff to ensure duties are performed and achieved in a manner that supports the Minnesota Sex Offender Program mission and treatment philosophies.
  • Managing all aspects of employee training including training development, performance evaluation and identifying training needs.
  • Serving as a resource in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Promoting client participation in treatment programs and supporting pro-social interactions.
  • Managing and monitoring the physical, social, and therapeutic setting in order to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must:

Have a high school diploma or GED and,

Have three (3) years' work experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment providing case management or the monitoring and delivery of therapeutic services to individuals, AND at least one year of experience MUST include supervising, coaching and managing employees.

** A master's degree in criminal justice, Law Enforcement, Rehabilitation Therapy, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Healthcare Management, or a related field may be substituted for 1 year of experience; OR a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Law Enforcement, Rehabilitation Therapy, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Healthcare Management or a related field may be substituted for 6 months of experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with patients/clients with sexual psychopathic personalities, sexually dangerous persons, mentally ill and dangerous, or with developmental disabilities
