We are a high-energy, results-driven 24/7 gym in Monee, Illinois, focused on personal training and real member outcomes. We are seeking a full-time Assistant Gym Manager who is passionate about fitness, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has the sales drive to help grow both memberships and personal training services. This role is ideal for someone who wants to lead from the front, take ownership of daily operations, and be a key part of a tight-knit team.
Position Overview
The Assistant Gym Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the gym while delivering an exceptional member experience. Reporting directly to the owner, this role blends operations, sales, leadership, and hands-on coaching in a small, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily gym operations, including front desk coverage, opening and closing duties
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional gym environment
- Address member questions, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally
- Lead and run scheduled classes as needed
- Drive sales of memberships, personal training packages, and additional services based on KPI's set by owner
- Book and manage sales appointments and follow-ups
- Build strong relationships with members to support retention and results
- Lead by example with energy, accountability, and professionalism on the floor
- Support marketing initiatives, events, and community outreach efforts
Sales Expectations
- Confidently present and sell gym memberships
- Promote and sell personal training services
- Identify and execute upsell opportunities aligned with member goals
- Consistently follow up on leads and inquiries
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred (fitness, sales, or customer-facing roles)
- Sales experience strongly preferred
- Personal training/health coach certification preferred but not required
- Willingness to obtain a personal training certification, with support and reimbursement provided by the gym upon 90 days completion on the job
- Comfortable working in a small-team environment with a high level of responsibility
