General Description: Jordan Aluminum is seeking skilled Lab Technician who is looking to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced work environment to join our team. Applicants must have basic  lab tech experience and or automated line operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understanding and ability to control a chemical process tank line that includes an alkaline clean tank, Mil-Etch tank, Deoxidizer tank, Chemical Conversion Coating tank, Boric Acid Anodizing tank, Degreaser Tank, and Passivate tank.
  • Understanding of OEM testing requirements for all the above tanks and carry them out in accordance with the required OEM schedule, some testing will require internal control but completed by an outside lab.
  • Understanding and ability in reviewing testing results of the tank line. Capability to adjust the tanks if test results require. This would involve calculating the volume that is required.
  • Understanding and ability to order material required for the tank line. Putting together requirements for chemicals on a Purchase Order
  • Understanding and be ability to adhere to a schedule of required testing including test panels that require processing and painted.
  • Understanding and capability of IGA and EGP testing requirements
  • Capable of controlling periodic testing requirements.
  • Capable of being audited by outside parties and showing compliance to customer requirements.
  • Waste Treatment and Hazardous waste control knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Safely operate anodize line cranes.
  • Watching tank temps.
  • Following the correct process flows.
  • Maintain acceptable production levels. Keeping eye on tank levels.
  • Running proper programs with tank times.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1 year of lab tech experience, 2-3 years preferred
  • Computer literate.
    • Versed in the proper usage of PPE.

Physical Demands:  

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat and walk on a regular basis.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Must wear gloves, eyes & ear protection and adhere to safety procedures at all times.
  • Five S in the area of the tanks and the chemical storage. 
  • Communicate verbally with coworkers safety, discrepancy, or a variety of other work issues.
  • Tolerate working in an hot environment or cold depending on season and working with loud sounds, dust, fumes and solvents.
  • Housekeep is a big part of the job.
