We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for our facility in Detroit, Michigan. In this critical role, you will operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your expertise ensures the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse, supporting our extensive logistics operations. You will be responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from designated areas, and maintaining a high level of accuracy. A commitment to safety, attention to detail, and proficiency in forklift operation are essential. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into warehouse storage.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Stack and unstack pallets and materials.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts and report any issues.
- Accurately record inventory movements.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all logistics and warehouse protocols.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring significant physical exertion, including Lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
