Certified Surgical Technologist

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled Operating Room Technologist to support a busy surgical services team in Herrin, IL. The OR Tech will assist surgeons and RNs in a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient environment while consistently following OR protocols and patient safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR for surgeries by setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain strict sterile technique throughout all procedures.
• Assist the surgeon by anticipating needs during surgery.
• Ensure proper handling of specimens and surgical instruments.
• Collaborate with RNs, anesthesia, and the surgical team for optimal workflow.
• Perform instrument counts and verify accuracy before and after procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist in positioning as needed.
• Clean, restock, and prepare rooms between cases.
• Follow all hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Active certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST preferred; experience accepted).
• BLS required.
• Minimum 1–2 years operating room experience (hospital setting preferred).
• Strong knowledge of sterile field maintenance and surgical instrumentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced OR with multiple specialties (e.g., general, ortho, OB/GYN, ENT).
• Call participation may be required.

Pay: $2, $2,350.00 per hour
