Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Maintain infection control protocols by adhering to sterilization procedures and guidelines.
- Take and record vital signs of patients prior to treatment.
- Document medical histories and maintain accurate medical documentation for each patient visit.
- Perform medical imaging tasks, including X-rays, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Provide support in pediatric dentistry by assisting with child patients in a friendly and reassuring manner.
- Utilize Epic or similar software for patient management and record keeping.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with the dental team and patients.
- Implement four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided.
- Knowledge of infection control practices is essential.
- Familiarity with taking vital signs, medical documentation, and medical imaging techniques is advantageous.
- Experience or interest in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Proficiency in using Epic or similar dental software is desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to maintain professionalism while interacting with patients of all ages.
