Line Cook

Overview
Southern Jo's is seeking an advanced line cook for our counter service, cook-to-order restaurant. Pay will be $16-18/hour PLUS cash tips.

Duties

• Follow recipes consistently.
• Produce timely orders.
• Assure appealing presentation.
• Ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized, including workstations and equipment.
• Monitor food and supply inventory and notify manager to assure prompt reorders
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and all culinary tools.
• Assist with special events and catering.

Qualifications

• Scratch kitchen, restaurant or fine dining experience ( 1-2 years)
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
• Excellent knife skills, ability to temp meats
• Familiar with variety of prep and cooking techniques
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Have reliable transportation (preferrably your own vehicle)

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
