About
The Quality Technician ensures that products are meeting customer requirements at each stage of the manufacturing process. The Quality Engineer performs quality audits, inspects parts, conducts analysis, reports findings, and assists with root cause analysis.
THE WHAT
What will you be doing?
- This role will be expected to lead and direct projects and/or to lead people assigned to projects.
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering and quality assurance staff to develop, define and document product test requirements.
- Develop test requirements to ensure business requirements, customer requirements, and potential known or unknown issues will be analyzed through the inspection process.
- Assist in continuous testing to detect issues and ensure requirements are met prior to production release. Utilize production part approval process (PPAP), failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), control plans, etc.
- Identify issues and work to resolve issues/problems.
- Work closely with manufacturing to conduct first piece, in-process and final inspection standards defined by customer, blueprint and/or control plan. Conduct supplier initial inspection and nonconforming product disposition. If needed, establish and/or perform repair and rework activities.
- Raw material and finished goods handling.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of the inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, plug and height gauges) and remain current on the products, tools and processes utilized in the quality assurance process.

Requirements:
- Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- One year experience in quality/CMM programming within a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Excellent math and analytical skills.
- Blueprint reading skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) preferred but not required.
- Intermediate knowledge of Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA) preferred but not required.
- Ability to obtain CWI (Certified Welding Instructor) within one year of start date preferred, but not required. All costs associated with this certification will be paid by D&H Industries.
