Position Summary

A Photo Etch Operator Lead operates specialized equipment to etch metal sheets with intricate designs or patterns using a photoresist technique. This job requires knowledge of machinery, chemicals, and photoresist techniques, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. The Photo Etch Operator works with various metals like stainless steel, copper, and brass to produce precision. They are responsible for maintaining equipment, ensuring quality control, and meeting production deadlines. The Photo Etch Operator plays a crucial role in producing high-quality metal products with intricate designs and patterns.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Perform all job functions described under Level III Operator.
  • Be able to identify causes and provide corrective action for various etching problems including breakdown, poor developing, and artifacts.
  • Interact with Printing Department regarding photo tool quality problems.
  • Interact with Bonding and Inspection Departments regarding finished product problems.
  • Perform periodic etch systems uniformity tests.
  • Process small run production jobs through all the etch operations.
  • Be able to identify major etch systems problems.
  • Able to manufacture close tolerance and difficult material jobs.
  • Work independently to establish process parameters at each operation of the job.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor.

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in photo etching.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Satisfy all the requirements of Level III Operator.
  • Knowledge of all the manufacturing processes for the different photo etched materials.
  • Basic chemistry including compatibilities, percent concentrations and control parameters.
  • Understand chemical titrations and bath analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
