Position Summary

A motivated team-oriented person with strong leadership ability, hands on processing capabilities with quality background, motivational and training skills, and a good mechanical aptitude. The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for supporting the facility by providing planning and scheduling of the daily/weekly plant maintenance activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly plant maintenance schedules, review performance daily and modify plans as appropriate
  • Maintenance job planning /scheduling to include:
  • Issue/review work order documents from Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (Emaint. / Limble.
  • Specify and order parts required on our CMMS (Emaint. / Limble) system.
  • Specify appropriate tools.
  • Responsible for taking care of our part inventory on CMMS (Emaint. / Limble.
  • Provide detailed work instructions.
  • Job review and data capture
  • Follow-up planning as required and work order closure.
  • Prioritize work, maintaining a backlog.
  • Accountable for correcting supplier related constraints towards the supply plan.
  • Accountable for processing all MRP-related purchase orders.
  • Source materials, new suppliers, plant services and vendors while negotiating the best or most cost-effective contracts and deals.
  • Competitively bid and negotiate services, production and maintenance supplies and parts that enable the site to meet budgetary commitments.
  • Ensure accurate pricing information based upon negotiated contracts is incorporated.
  • Accountable for correcting supplier related constraints towards the supply plan.
  • Accountable for processing all MRP-related purchase orders.
  • Responsible for purchase order and purchase order revisions utilizing the PO system.
  • Review PM orders and optimize plant PM systems.
  • Manage continuous improvement of maintenance.
  • Facilitate weekly maintenance scheduling meetings with plant management.
  • Procure necessary spare parts/services and effectively interface with vendors/contractors.
  • Review manufacturers' service manuals to set up preventive maintenance schedules for parts replacement, lubrication, and overhauls.
  • Studies production and operation schedules and confer with facility staff to determine when planned maintenance will least interfere with operations and to ensure timely completion. Estimate costs of personnel, parts, and supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by maintenance manager, plant manager or operations manager.
  • Responsible for keeping a monthly maintenance budget according to the monthly plan and goals.

Education and Experience

  • High level of computer literacy, job requires daily interface with (Emaint. / Limble CMMS
  • Experienced with CMMS (Emaint. / Limble) workflow and effective at communicating work plans
  • Working knowledge of industrial plant processes and equipment
  • Well organized, forward-thinker, good communicator
  • Effective meeting facilitator
  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or higher; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to do two mathematical operations to arrive at the solution.

REASONING ABILITY:

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
