General Manager (GM)
who will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and leading a team of passionate foodservice professionals. This role requires a high level of energy, attention to detail, and a genuine love for hospitality. The GM drives performance by coaching team members, maintaining operational excellence, and managing the business to meet and exceed financial goals.
Responsibilities:
Operations & Guest Experience
- Lead by example in delivering warm, consistent, high-quality service.
- Ensure all food and beverage items meet Spread Bagelry's brand and quality standards.
- Monitor restaurant cleanliness, safety, and sanitation.
- Manage daily checklists, opening/closing procedures, and shift execution.
- Troubleshoot service issues in real time with a guest-first mindset.
Team Leadership
- Hire, train, coach, and develop all team members, including assistant managers and shift leaders.
- Build a positive, team-oriented culture aligned with company values.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
- Ensure all staff are properly trained on food safety, procedures, and brand standards.
Financial & Business Performance
- Manage labor costs, COGS, and controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budget goals.
- Analyze daily/weekly/monthly P&L reports to identify areas for improvement.
- Create and execute plans to drive sales, including local marketing and community engagement.
- Maintain proper inventory levels, place orders, and minimize waste.
Compliance & Brand Integrity
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and labor laws.
- Maintain accurate records for scheduling, payroll, and operational checklists.
- Represent the Spread Bagelry brand with integrity and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience (fast-casual or QSR preferred).
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and hold a team accountable.
- Strong financial acumen and comfort working with KPIs, P&L, and budgets.
- Experience with Toast, XtraChef, and/or 7shifts a plus
- High energy, hands-on leadership style with excellent communication skills.
- ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
- Able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
