• Schedule: Nights - 3 on and 6 off hour shifts - 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. followed by (6) shifts off. Rotated amongst a team of 6 APP's covering 2 locations with 1 APP assigned to each location for every 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. shift.
• Call Schedule: no on-call
• Practice Detail: The practice consists of six cardiac surgery surgeons and twelve APPs.
• EMR System: Sunrise
• Facility: Ascension Indianapolis and Ascension Heart Center
• Location: Indianapolis and Carmel, Indiana

$20,000 sign-on for providers with 2+ years direct Critical Care/Cardiac ICU experience.

Ascension Medical Group is looking for a Physician Assistant for our Cardiothoracic Surgery Nocturnist APP team. Incoming APP's would be involved with the post-op management of the Cardiac & Thoracic surgery patients in both the critical care ICU and step down units. The APP's on this team are part of a collaborative team model of care consisting of advanced providers and physicians who provide care for post-surgical inpatients.

Position Highlights:

• Evaluates and treats cardiac & thoracic surgery patients in the immediate pre and post-operative setting and serves as the primary admitting service.
• Obtains complete histories and performs pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings.
• Facilitates the coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and services.

Responsibilities:

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
• Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
