About Emil Anderson Construction

Emil Anderson Construction (EAC) is a civil construction leader with a proud legacy of excellence and innovation. Headquartered in Kelowna, British Columbia, we deliver projects across the province, specializing in roadbuilding, highway paving, and a broad range of complex civil infrastructure.

For more than 85 years, EAC has earned a reputation for providing high-quality, value-driven solutions. Our collaborative approach brings owners, partners, and stakeholders together to design and execute projects that stand the test of time.

We take pride in our people, our work, and our contribution to the infrastructure that connects and strengthens communities across British Columbia. Supported by regional offices, equipment yards, and maintenance facilities in Kelowna, Hope, and Chilliwack, we are positioned to serve communities throughout the province.

Our success is rooted in our Core Values: Safety, Leadership, Improvement, Commitment, and Excellence. Joining our team means working on landmark projects, learning from industry leaders, and advancing your career in a supportive, safety-focused culture.

The Opportunity

We're seeking Civil Engineering students who are currently enrolled in or have completed a civil engineering degree or diploma to join our team for a co-op or work term with a leading BC contractor.

As a Civil Student, you will directly contribute to significant projects, building your skills in field engineering, project coordination, quality control, surveying, and site operations within a culture that values safety, innovation, and professional growth. You'll work closely with field teams and leadership to keep projects running smoothly and safely.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable working outdoors on active construction sites.
The position is based out of Kelowna, with the possibility of travel to out-of-town projects. Assigned shifts may vary based on operational needs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project activities and develop project schedules.
  • Perform quality control assessments and project inspections.
  • Compile and complete reports.
  • Assist the Project Superintendent with crew supervision.
  • Assist with site surveying and quantity measurements.
  • Perform other labour duties as required.

Your Qualifications & Skills

  • Successfully completed or working towards a degree or diploma in civil engineering.
  • Strong work ethic and team oriented.
  • Willingness to travel within the province for work assignments.
  • Natural problem-solving ability with clear and effective communication skills.
  • Flexible and open to working night shifts if required.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Valid Canadian driver's license, with a clean driving abstract.
  • Physically capable of walking on uneven terrain, climbing slopes, and carrying 20 kilograms.

What We Offer

The chance to be part of landmark projects that shape communities across British Columbia, while building your career with a company that's been trusted for over 85 years. We foster a culture where people are more than employees — they're contributors, owners, and leaders. At EAG, you'll have opportunities to learn from industry experts, grow your skills, and make a lasting impact.

  • Competitive hourly rate: $23.00-$25.00 per hour.
  • Training and career development opportunities.
