As the Manager, Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for ensuring various aspects of Viral Nation's financial reporting and accounting are accurate, complete, and efficient. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of accounting records and systems while preparing complex financial presentations for senior management.
This role also acts as the primary financial liaison for non-finance departments, providing high-touch support to help department heads understand their budgets, WIP entries, and job profitability. You will collaborate deeply with the Account teams to refine the "order-to-cash" cycle and revenue recognition process, ensuring smooth hand-offs and clear communication.
Responsibilities:- Lead month-end consolidation and financial statement preparation, including the execution of complex consolidation entries.
- Oversee month-end WIP runs for Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting, providing deep job analysis and posting entries.
- Design and present periodic and ad-hoc management reports. You will translate complex datasets into actionable insights regarding revenue analytics, job profitability, and cash flow.
- Manage the AR function, ensuring timely invoicing and optimized operating cycle management.
- Perform revenue recognition analysis and design accounting processes for new revenue streams.
- Actively identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to streamline month-end close and reporting. You will support software implementations and departmental improvements to build a tech-forward finance function.
- Support the month-end close process through detailed review of AR and WIP account reconciliations, month-end journal entries, consolidation entries, stock-based compensation etc.
- Perform Ad hoc accounting analysis based on ASPE/ IFRS and document and apply results.
- Maintain effective and efficient accounting systems, processes, and practices based on recognized accounting principles, policies, procedures, and guidelines while ensuring compliance.
- Lead the year -end audit process including collection of transaction support documents, review and/or preparation of working papers, schedules, analysis, and other required documentation.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to staff with the objective of building a world-class Finance function for scale.
- 4 years of finance experience in a financial reporting/operation capacity
- Fully designated CPA
- Excellent knowledge of accounting (ASPE and IFRS)
- Understanding financial processes (order to cash, operating cycle, internal controls, month end and financial close etc.)
- Critical thinking and, in turn, confident decision-making with the ability to lead a team
- Exceptional work ethic, organization, and ability to manage numerous priorities
- Excellent communication (full proficiency in English) and interpersonal skills – ability and comfortable speaking and working with senior management
- In-depth knowledge of accounting software and systems
- Agency and/or SaaS and technology experience a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Business Dynamics, HubSpot and COSMOS reporting tool
