About
Join our team in Washington, D.C. as an Order Picker and play a key role in our distribution center's success. We are searching for dedicated individuals to accurately and efficiently pick items from our inventory to fulfill customer orders. This position is vital for our logistics operations, ensuring that products are dispatched correctly and on time. You will be working in a dynamic warehouse environment, utilizing handheld scanners and other equipment to locate and retrieve products. A meticulous approach and a commitment to safety are essential. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. You will contribute to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring order accuracy and prompt fulfillment.
Responsibilities:
- Retrieve specified items from warehouse shelves based on customer order details.
- Scan items to ensure accuracy in picking and to update inventory levels in real-time.
- Verify product codes, descriptions, and quantities before completing picks.
- Operate electric pallet jacks and other order-picking equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all warehouse safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock replenishment as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate any picking discrepancies or warehouse issues to supervisors.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the logistics department.
- Be prepared for regular lifting tasks, up to 40 lbs, as part of the picking process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including the correct use of PPE.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, and lift throughout the shift.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet performance targets.
