About
Our busy logistics facility in Chicago, Illinois, is looking for skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operators. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods within our warehouse by operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Responsibilities include loading and unloading delivery trucks, transferring inventory to and from storage areas, and assisting with stocktaking and inventory accuracy. Maintaining a safe operating environment and performing daily equipment checks are paramount. The ideal candidate possesses a valid forklift certification, a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, and a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics. You must be comfortable working in a dynamic warehouse setting and strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Some manual tasks may be required, including lifting up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport inventory to and from receiving, storage, and shipping areas.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist with put-away of received goods and replenishment of stock.
- Conduct inventory counts and participate in inventory management.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Follow all traffic control procedures within the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of forklift operation in a warehouse setting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
