Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Houston, Texas. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and timely processing of goods. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient warehouse operations and supporting our supply chain. You will work closely with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of warehouse procedures. Responsibilities:
  • Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Inspect goods for damage or defects and report any issues immediately.
  • Accurately document all received items, including quantity, item number, and condition.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to record incoming inventory.
  • Stage received goods for put-away or distribution.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal staff regarding deliveries.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Participate in inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn WMS.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
