The Town of Stony Plain is the local government authority responsible for planning and delivering municipal services in Stony Plain, a Canadian urban community of approximately 18,000 people on the traditional Indigenous lands of Treaty 6 peoples.

The Town of Stony Plain has a full-time position available for an Assistant Superintendent on the Stony Plain Golf Course. The Assistant Superintendent reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and serves and provides day-to-day leadership within maintenance team, overseeing all maintenance projects and grounds operations at the Stony Plain Golf Course. In the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent provides direction and supervision to all golf course maintenance staff. This position requires continued training and education.

• Has extensive knowledge of golf course maintenance management.
• Exhibits strong mechanical abilities with turf maintenance equipment.
• Possesses general repair and maintenance knowledge of equipment and course structures.

Education and Experience:

• A formal turfgrass education is an asset (diploma, degree, or equivalent).
• At least 5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, including experience with irrigation systems and operation of equipment supervisory or leadership experience in a grounds or maintenance environment.

Based on a 40-hour work week, the wage for this position is $ $32.00 per hour, depending on background and experience. The Assistant Superintendent may be required to work weekends, holidays, and extra hours as required. This is a temporary position with an anticipated start date of March 2nd, 2026, and will continue for approximately 9 months.
