Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team at Pete and Gerry's Organics, a leading egg production facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our production equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to maintenance, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a food production environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand the egg grading system.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled by your supervisor.
- Perform routine inspections of machinery and equipment to determine adjustments and repairs needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair down processing and building equipment.
- Support processing with changeover and product setup/startup.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and organization of all work areas.
- Knowledge in Wastewater Management is a plus.
- Ensure constant adherence with all company, state, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence with SQF (Safe Quality Food) code and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines and standards.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous industrial machine/mechanical experience is a plus.
- Vocational or technical school is a plus.
- Basic understanding of pneumatic systems, electricity, and electrical wiring.
- Ability to troubleshoot AC and DC electrical components.
- Understanding of Safety Data Sheets and proper chemical handling
- Ability to obtain fork truck certification.
- Experience handling power tools
- Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electro-mechanical equipment.
- Blueprint, sketch layout, wiring diagram, drawing, and other specification interpretation skills.
- Knowledge of GMPs preferred.
