Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift Operator A - Utility at our Tupelo/Verona, MS manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe operation of a specific piece of equipment used in the manufacture of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence. As an hourly Operator A - Utility, the successful candidate will be expected to communicate on a daily basis with multiple levels of Company personnel and most importantly with the Managers, Supervisors and employees in the manufacturing plant. Operator A - Utility works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.

Additional responsibilities of the Operator A - Utility position will include:

• Must be able to operate the machinery proficiently according to customer specifications and daily production schedule.
• Perform all 2nd shift positions plant wide as needed (lift driver, loading/unloading trucks, crane operator, checker/loader, etc.).
• Maintain a neat, orderly and safe working environment.
• Conducts quality checks to ensure products meet all specification.
• Inputs pertinent data into the SAP system.

Skills/ Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Must be forklift certified.
• 2+ years of machine operation experience.
• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and call-in with little notice
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
