Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Dental Sterilization Technician to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, maintained, and prepared for patient procedures. This role is essential in maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety within our clinic. Candidates should have a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and medical documentation processes to support our clinical team effectively.
Duties
- Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment following strict aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines.
- Prepare sterilized instruments for upcoming procedures, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument inventories, and equipment maintenance using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic.
- Assist with inventory management by ordering supplies and ensuring all sterilization areas are well-stocked and organized.
- Support the clinical team with chairside assisting tasks, including passing instruments during procedures and managing patient comfort.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by handling medical records and documentation securely.
- Assist with patient care activities such as taking vital signs, recording medical history, or supporting pediatric dentistry procedures when needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized sterilization area adhering to OSHA standards for infection control.
- Support the team in maintaining accurate medical documentation and coding related to dental procedures.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic or similar healthcare environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable.
- Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Experience with dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, x-ray procedures, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Pay: $ $26.92 per hour
