What You'll Be Doing
Develop detailed engineering designs and drawings for civil municipal and land development projects, including water, sewer, stormwater, roadways, and site grading
Translate concepts, sketches, and field data into accurate plans using Civil 3D and other technical software
Prepare documentation for permits and approvals, including design reports, cost estimates, and tender packages
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Identify and resolve design and field issues proactively, applying independent problem-solving
Support contract administration, construction coordination, and technical reviews as needed
What You'll Bring
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline
7+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering consulting or a similar technical role
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential
Registration as an AScT (or eligibility) or other relevant technical accreditations are considered an asset
Experience with stormwater, sanitary, water system design/modeling and construction inspection is an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to clients
Project management or coordination experience, including stakeholder communication, budget tracking, and documentation to support timely and efficient project delivery
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with proven ability to manage project workflows and produce high-quality deliverables with minimal supervision
What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $71,000 – $110,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual's education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
