Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations within a healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive clinical pharmacy experience, and a comprehensive understanding of pharmacy regulations and patient care. This role involves managing medication dispensing, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and providing expert guidance on pharmaceutical services to support optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing and inventory management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA guidelines
- Oversee the preparation and compounding of medications, non-sterile preparations
- Lead patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy and provide clinical consultations
- Manage pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR systems, and medication management tools
- Administer immunizations and provide patient education on medication use, safety, and potential side effects
- Coordinate with healthcare providers on medical management plans, pain management protocols, and IV infusion therapies
- Oversee pharmacy technician staff, including training on medication administration, inventory control, and documentation procedures
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and inventory levels in accordance with regulatory standards
- Participate in hospital or clinical team meetings to support comprehensive patient care strategies
Qualifications
- Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the state of practice
- Proven clinical pharmacy experience with expertise in patient service, patient assessment, and medical management
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology necessary for effective patient care
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage staff effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual in Korean and English
