Job Overview

The Training Specialist, reporting to the General Manager of Human Resources, plays a critical role in building a skilled, engaging and high performing workforce by leading the design, delivery, and administration of company-wide learning and development initiatives. Beyond training delivery and continuous development planning, this position supports broader HR initiatives such as owning the annual performance review cycle and administering the employee engagement survey. You are a relationship builder and persuasive individual working closely with business leaders across Weins Auto Group, and tech-savvy with analytical business acumen in identifying skill gaps and developing effective learning solutions that support organizational objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess training needs across departments by partnering with HR and business leaders to identify skill and performance gaps.
  • Design and develop engaging training materials, including presentations, job aids, manuals, and e-learning content.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions, including new-hire onboarding and ongoing development programs.
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS), including course administration, content uploads, assessments, and completion tracking.
  • Monitor, track, and report on training programs, apprenticeships, and tuition reimbursement initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze feedback and training metrics to continuously improve learning programs.
  • Plan, administer, and report on the annual employee engagement survey.
  • Coordinate the annual performance review process, including system administration and reporting.
  • Manage the co-op student program, including school partnerships, career events, and placement coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal audits, and health & safety requirements, while supporting additional HR projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A valid Ontario driver's license.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in training and development.
  • Experience with e-learning platforms and instructional design.

Office

Work is performed primarily in an office environment.  Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by the Company. Based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual location or a representation of locations in that city or area.
