Overview
We are seeking a passionate and engaging Forest School Guide to lead outdoor educational activities for children in a natural setting. This role offers an opportunity to inspire curiosity, foster environmental awareness, and promote hands-on learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong connection to nature, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to nurturing young minds through outdoor exploration and education.

Responsibilities

  • Lead children through outdoor activities that promote environmental understanding, creativity, and physical development.
  • Design and implement engaging lessons that align with educational goals and safety standards.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for children of diverse backgrounds.
  • Encourage curiosity by facilitating exploration, observation, and discussion about nature and the environment.
  • Manage group dynamics, ensuring all children are engaged and supervised at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan seasonal programs and special events.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and the cleanliness of outdoor learning spaces.
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and experiences.

Skills

  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to guide groups of children confidently in outdoor settings.
  • Excellent public speaking and communication skills to engage children and communicate with parents effectively.
  • Teaching experience or background in outdoor education is highly desirable.
  • Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus, enabling effective communication with diverse communities.
  • Exceptional time management skills to organize activities efficiently within scheduled timeframes.
  • Customer service orientation to create positive experiences for families and community partners.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm in dynamic outdoor environments. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about environmental education, outdoor adventure, and working with children to foster a lifelong appreciation for nature.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $27.00 per hour
